PCM RAIL.ONE AG and S:t Eriks AB are committed to manufacture and deliver innovative slab track solutions to railway high-speed lines, tunnel and bridge projects in Sweden. The RHEDA 2000® system, developed by RAIL.ONE, is one of the world's most widely applied and, from design perspective, one of the most flexible slab track systems for high-speed lines. The system has been installed on over 4,000 km of railway lines in Europe, Middle East and Asia.
Neumarkt (Germany), July 5, 2018 – Coupled with S:t Erik's long experience and strong local network in the construction industry, the two companies jointly offer advanced track solutions for long-distance railway lines and urban transit projects in Sweden.
The RHEDA 2000® system is a ballastless track embedded in a monolithic concrete structure, i.e. a so-called in-situ technology that is used both in high-speed railway lines as well as in modern, sustainable railway infrastructure projects, as for example in the construction of new railway tunnels. The slab track system reduces annual maintenance costs, increases the track stability and allows for a more efficient and eco-friendly alignment compared to conventional track forms. These advantages are of great importance, especially in tunnel and bridge projects.
"We have started the manufacturing of prototype RHEDA 2000® bi-block sleepers in one of our plants with the intention of delivering slab track solutions to various projects in the near future," says Fredrik Adielson, Business Development Manager Rail & Traffic at S:t Eriks.
Torsten Bode, Chief Sales Officer at RAIL.ONE, explains the objective of the strategic cooperation: "With S:t Eriks as a strong local partner at our side, we aim to address the market in a fast and efficient way, to enter into dialogue with railway authorities and to manufacture our products locally. RAIL.ONE has grown steadily in the last 20 years thanks to the attention to growing international markets and working with professional and reliable partners. Scandinavia and the UK are two of the markets where the slab track solutions today receive, and in the next 15 years will continue to receive, a lot of attention. In the Nordic countries, we hope to offer innovative and sustainable ballastless track systems that are tailored to meet the requirements of our Nordic customers in terms of design. We have already won important projects, for instance in Norway and Finland, and are on track to establish the RHEDA 2000® system in the Nordic market.”
